To the Editor.— Iannini et al made several important points and, although I do not wishto detract from those points, I am compelled to comment on their reference to the use of fat over the lesions in the treatment of cutaneous myiasis. 1 While serving with the US Army in the Panama Canal Zone, I had occasion to accompany an air force medical team on a trip to visit Antonio, a Choco Indian, and his clan living in the tropical rain forest adjoining Gatun Lake, specifically to attend to their medical needs.
