• Satellite-Derived Shorelines at Gallocanta Lake from mid-resolution satellite imagery. • SDS with subpixel accuracy leads to an accurate definition of the lake's perimeter. • A large package of SDS to define the three-dimensionality of the shore (1984–2020). • Volume is estimated by modeling the relationship between water surface and elevation. • Efficient RS approach for monitoring water bodies through large periods of time.
