Abstract

Inferior vena cava (IVC) filters are often seen as a safe and effective means of preventing pulmonary embolus in patients with contraindication to standard medical therapy. We present a case of a 57-year-old African-American man who presented with an IVC filter in his right ventricle. At our institution, percutaneous retrieval is initially attempted to reduce perioperitive morbidity. doi:10.4021/jmc240w
