Abstract

1. 1. Use gentle manipulation and small incisions in treating boils or furuncles of the neck. 2. 2. In carbuncles, if conservative methods do not quickly bring results, use wide crucial incisions with undercutting of the flaps. 3. 3. In chronic lymphadenitis, unless you use wide dissection, adopt a regime of increased general nutrition, and use aspiration or small incisions if suppuration occurs. 4. 4. Watch for the unusual but rapidly developing Ludwig's angina with its poor prognosis. 5. 5. In all neck lesions, make a careful differential diagnosis and use biopsy frequently.
