Abstract
The pulmonary arterial catheter (PAC) and peripheral arterial catheter (AC) are used frequently in the management of critically ill patients, but not without risk. The use of the catheter has been associated with complications such as infection of the catheter insertion site and catheter-related infection with and without subsequent catheter-related bacteremia (CRB) [1].
