Abstract

Infected urachal cysts are a rare clinical manifestation in adults. We present the case of an adult male patient with an infected urachal cyst, discuss the embryology, clinical presenta- tion, diagnostics and the therapeutic proce- dure. A high index of suspicion is necessary to diagnose this condition with unspecific clini- cal features. Ultrasound and MRI are useful in making the diagnosis. Surgery continues to be the therapeutic procedure of choice.
