Abstract

The literature with regard to the infantile and juvenile types of amaurotic family idiocy is reviewed. Two new cases here recorded were encountered in Japanese girl children, and there was great probability that a sister of the first of these patients had had the same condition. In each case the parents were first cousins. Out of fourteen cases of the juvenile type, including the two here added, the disease has occurred in the male sex only twice.
