Abstract

Herein are reported two very rare cases of infantile abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) investigated by ultrasound (US), color Doppler (CD), computed tomography (CT) scan and angiography, successfully repaired with good outcome. AAA is very rare in children. Causes include infection, vasculitis, inherited disorders of connective tissue disease and traumatism. True congenital aneurysms are exceedingly rare. Diagnosis and extension of the aneurysm are accurately evaluated by cross-sectional imaging and especially by US and CD.
