Abstract

A 6-month-old infant born full-term without complications presented with respiratory distress. Her parents reported vomiting for 2 days, with grunting starting 8 hours before presentation. She had no recent fever, upper respiratory infection symptoms, or trauma. On presentation, she was normothermic, normotensive, had a pulse rate of 197 beats/min, respiratory rate of 49 breaths/min, and oxygen saturation of 82% on room air. She had expiratory grunting, nasal flaring, and decreased breath sounds on the left.
