Abstract

The inertial effect on aerosol particle deposition from a stagnation point flow onto an axisymmetric plate is examined. The drag force between flow stream and aerosol particle was approached using the first term for particle relaxation time in an asymptotic series. Similarity solutions for laminar boundary layer flow and particle concentration field were solved using methods of quasi-linearization and finite difference. The inertial effect can be measured using a modified Stokes number. Particles selected were in a range of 0.1-100 μm and stagnation-point flow strength of a = 1, 10, and 100s -1
