Abstract

This article seeks to discuss the defense of the use of drugs against COVID-19 in Brazil by former president Jair Messias Bolsonaro. The research focuses on the first two years of the pandemic, the data collected were the official speeches of the former president on the defense of the use of medicines during the first two years of infection of the disease in Brazil, we consider the defense of the use of medications during that period by the former president as an orchestrated strategy for political gain in the eyes of the population. We use discourse analysis to understand Bolsonaro's speeches with the help of Social Studies of Science and Technology and Achille Mbembe's concept of necropolitics.
