Abstract

We present the results of Raman scattering measurements of a high-density two-dimensional electron gas in the presence of a magnetic field, for filling factors >6. Inter-Landau excitations up to Δn = 7 were observed, which we attribute to non-wavevector conserving Raman scattering. In addition, for measurements at finite wavevector, wavevector conserving Raman scattering is observed from Bernstein modes. Excellent agreement is obtained between experiment and theory for the magnetic-field dependence of the inter-Landau level and the charge-density excitations.
