Abstract
The main objective of this study was to develop a set of desired learning competencies for the Senior High School (SHS) as part of the K to 12 curriculum for the different schools in Bulacan. The study utilized a qualitative type of research where focused interviews were done with business owners of selected micro, small, medium and large cottage industries. Methodological triangulation was likewise performed. The researcher used the results from surveys, focus groups, and interviews to compare and to determine whether similar results are being found so that validity is established. The findings of the study show that micro and small cottage industries form the majority of businesses in Bulacan. The study identified the emerging knowledge, skills, attitude and values (KSAVs) that are needed by each industry which served as bases for the Desired Learning Competencies developed. Specialization contents were established through methodological triangulation on the basis of the results of KSAVs, interviews with business owners, and TESDA’s list of courses offered.
