Industry Convergence��Technology Progress and the Growth of Hi-Tech Industry

Abstract

Industry convergence and technology progress are two important factors which influence industry growth. it has theoretical and practical significance for accelerating high-tech industry development to study mechanism of industry growth in the perspective of Industry convergence and technology progress. This paper proposed three theoretical hypothesis firstly , then used patent method and DEAMalmquist index method respectively calculates technology convergence rate and industry technology progress level of ICT sub-industry , then based on the calculation result this paper use C-D function regression analyzed the contribution to industry growth, used panel data regression method investigate the causal relationship between the two factors. We got the empirical results as follows: industry convergence and industry technology progress are both important factors which promote the Hi-tech industry growth; there was really a cause-and-effect relationship between the two parts. Synergetic effect of the two parts is the key factors which promote the high-tech industry evolution.
