Abstract
Industrial Symbiosis (IS) can give multiple benefits not only to the environment but also to the economic and social aspects. From an environmental point of view, this IS supports the implementation more ‘green’ environment in Industrial Estate. However, there are some problems with IS implementation. The objective of this paper is to investigate the potential and problems associated with IS implementation in Industrial Estate, especially in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a case study by analysing the existing area and interviewing stakeholders. The result of the analysis shows that differences in time development of each industry and the use of technology to link industries can affect the optimization of industrial symbiosis in the Industrial Estate.
