Abstract

Computer engineering courses are by nature heavily technology oriented. As a result course content can change on a year-to-year basis. More and more students are feeling the need to acquire relevant programming skills needed in the fast changing technological world. As a result it is becoming increasingly important for instructors to introduce realistic software into the classroom environment. In this article, we demonstrate the use of industrial strength software components in teaching advanced topics in an Enterprise Java course. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
