Abstract

This paper approaches the problematic of obtaining variable voltage levels with a device connected by an industrial network to a host computer. The proposed structure is a MOSFET switching power supply owning a PIC18F448 based Transducer Interface Module (TIM) which will communicate with a corresponding Network Capable Application Processor (NCAP) thus making the entire device compliant with the IEEE 1451.2 standard. It is presented an original TIM architecture with the necessary Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS), a suitable power supply, hardware and software implementation.
