Abstract
On industrial processes, classical fault detection systems are based on variables monitoring around predefined set points. In this paper, a fault is actually considered as a change in relationship between related variables; on-line identification is used to observe model parameters and thus dete ct faults. These simple considerations are the background of the methodology which has been developped and tested on an actual industrial pilot unit.
