Abstract
Using the Buckingham theorem, it is possible to characterize a photochemical system with dimensionless numbers. The use of these numbers allows us to extrapolate such a system from an experimental model scale to a prototype scale within limits which are shown. This can be done in principle without a complete understanding of all the mechanisms involved.
