Abstract

This paper proposes an inductor current control of three-phase interleaved DC-DC converter using single DC-link current sensor. Conventional inductor current control of interleaved DC-DC converter is conducted on the detected inductor current by current sensors in each phase inductor. In this paper, the proposed scheme uses single current sensor for measurement of DC-link current and achieves inductor current control, which eliminates two current sensors from conventional method. The cost, the volume and the weight of the current sensors can be reduced by decreasing number of the current sensors. Inductor current control using single DC-link current sensor utilizes the measurement value which is measured when only one phase switch of the upper arms is on-state at the bottom of each carrier. When only one phase switch of the upper arms is on state, the current value of DC-link equals that of the corresponding inductor. Comparison between the inductor current controls using single current sensor and three current sensors was conducted by the simulation. Additionally experiment using single current sensor was conducted and effectiveness of the proposed control is verified in this paper.
