Abstract
Both haploid and diploid adult males of the hymenoptera, Athalia rosae (Symphyta, Tenthredinidae), produced the two vitellogenins, L and S, in their haemolymph following topical application of juvenile hormone III. Previtellogenic ovaries transplanted into the abdoment of haploid adult males which were then given juvenile hormone III topically, maturated and the eggs upon in vitro activation successfully completed embryonic development.
