Abstract

Rohida stem canker is one of a biggest problem in production of quality timber due to tree deformity. The pathogen responsible for the disease was confirmed through pathogenecity testing as Lasiodiplodia theobrome. Induction of systemic acquired resistance was used as a tool for management of the disease. Two chemicals Salicylic acid, Jasmonic acid and one biocontrol agent Trichoderma viride was used for induction of defence enzymes. Out of these chemicals and bioagent Salicylic acid (10 mM) was found to be effective in management of the disease but should be introduced in early stage of infection.
