Abstract

We find nontrivial classical solutions of the field equations derived from an action including higher-curvature terms (R2 andRμv2) in the framework of the induced-gravity approach. The Weyl-Eddington action emerges in a natural way as a unique candidate for the induced-gravity action, through the analysis of our classical exact solutions hereby presented.
