Abstract

The paper presents the electromagnetic interference between an existing high voltage power line and a new designed underground stream gas pipeline intended to be placed in the same distribution corridor. The purpose is to compute the values of induced voltages and currents in an underground gas pipeline, which shares the same right of way with a high voltage power line (HVPL) for different operating conditions, in order to detect the possibility of AC corrosion occurring in the pipeline. Different equivalent soil models are taken into account. The analysis of the induced voltages in metallic structures (gas pipeline) was done using the CDEGS professional analysis and modeling software.
