Abstract
Male and female Musca autumnalis DeGeer were effectively sterilized when fed ad libitum for 6 days on 0.1% concentration of hempa and metepa. Reduction in F1 progeny resulted from nonviable eggs. Sterility was sustained for at least 28 days in both sexes. Hempa and metepa at 1.0% level had deleterious effects on longevity of males but both were nontoxic to females at this concentration. Both materials at 2.0% caused quick mortality of females.
