Abstract
Positive and negative magnetostrictive amorphous ribbons have been locally current annealed under local stress to induce different anisotropies, which have been studied by observing the magnetic domains. The results are explained using a theoretical model based on the assumption that the sample behaves like a membrane. Complementary information is obtained by measuring the local temperature during local current annealing. From these measurements the volume of the crystallized area can be obtained and the deformation due to creep effect evaluated and related with the magnetic anisotropy induced by this kind of annealing.
