Abstract

Information Retrieval (IR) is the process of providing details or facts regarding to the user needs. IR generally investigates automated and mathematical model based solutions. In our investigation, we were able to build a new mathematical IR model in order to give the retrieved documents based on comparison of spaces among the terms in the query with the spaces among the same terms in the document. Therefore, our next step is to implement this new model into an existing IR tool. As this new tool, we have chosen INDRI (is an open-source toolkit designed to facilitate research in language modeling and information retrieval), due to its much supportive features (flexibility and feasibility) which are available. Furthermore, this research seeks the fact, how far INDRI fulfills the requirements that a search engine inside a digital library should comprise.
