Abstract

In this study, various indoor location and navigation methods for mobile applications are surveyed using Augmented reality. A virtual reality simulation created by a computer simulates a real-world experience. The majority of the time, popular web maps show two-dimensional top views of structures. It becomes challenging to imagine a space’s inside. The challenge of seeing the inside infrastructure of enormously complex facilities is solved by indoor navigation utilizing AR technology. Outdoor areas have seen considerable use of navigation systems, but indoor environments are still in the early stages of development. Indoor navigation and positioning system helps in the flexible direction of humans in perplexing, uncharted buildings and building complexes. In areas where GPS is not available, indoor positioning devices are growing in popularity. To provide a set of strategies that can be utilized to produce a visual positioning and navigation system to implement handheld, mobile indoor navigation utilizing augmented reality, various existing methods are briefly elaborated and contrasted. Providing precise, reliable real-time user location at a reasonable price is the main difficulty. The article also provides examples of the most recent and in-demand technology developments and tools that facilitate and improve the implementation of augmented reality applications. Currently, the majority of navigation systems rely on signals from the Global Positioning System (GPS), which performs well outside but struggles inside due to weaker signal strength. Although complementary technologies like Wi-Fi-based and code-based solutions have been suggested for indoor navigation, an industry-wide solution has not yet been found.
