Abstract

Radio frequency-based indoor localization system has attracted commercial developers and researchers in the last few decades. This paper presents an indoor localization system using a wireless sensor network (WSN) with a simple configuration, algorithm, and easy deployment, expansion, and improvement. Sensor nodes use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology and operate at the band of 2.4 GHz. Our proposed system used 3 beacons with a grid resolution of $1m\times1m$, which applied the fingerprint method with existed advertising channel of Bluetooth Low Energy, 30 reference points, and 18 test points. The mean error of 1.0672 m in a very complex indoor environment of $9.2 m\times8.4m$ area, is a good result compared to other related works. The indoor localization system can greatly increase its accuracy by increasing the number of reference points.
