Abstract

This paper provides an overview of the challenges encountered in the acquisition and tracking of weak GPS signals present in indoor environments. Successful acquisition and tracking of weak GPS signals requires longer integration times, effective strong/weak signal decoupling, and correct multipath detection and rejection. The weak signal acquisition and tracking can be improved substantially with aiding information provided by cellular networks.
