Abstract

The success of the vinyl-coated wood based window of the Andersen Corporation in the United States is described. Functional characteristics required of window materials are given. The specific forming techniques used in generating vinyl-wood composites are set forth. Having produced over 10,000,000 window units, the Andersen Corporation continues to develop and field test new prototypes.
