Abstract

Ekasari I, Lailati M. 2015. Allometric relationship of growth on three native species of Gunung Gede Pangrango in agroforestry systems in Nagrak, Sukabumi, West Java. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 1461-1466. The ecosystem of Java montane forest in Gunung Gede Pangrango has specific characteristic of tree species as erosion reduction, carbon sequestration, and tree crown shapes. However, there is a lack of quantitative assessments of their functions on agroforestry systems. The aim of this study was to provide basic information on structural characteristics of three native species of Gunung Gede Pangrango at seedling growth for the implementation of models simulating the ecosystem processes in agroforestry systems. This study was conducted in utilization zone of Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park and home garden of farmers in Cihanjawar Village, Nagrak, Sukabumi, West Java with survey method. The tree native species of Gunung Gede Pangrango on this investigation were Altingia excelsa (Rasamala), Magnolia champaca (Cempaka) dan Elaeocarpus angustifolius (Ganitri). The measurements of the main structural parameters were: seedling height, seedling basal diameter, leaf area, chlorophyll content and leaf dry weight. Data analysis showed that the best significant relationships were obtained for a leaf dry weight area-leaf area with coefficient determination for A. excelsa r2 = 0.869, for E. angustifolius r2 = 0.766 and for M. champaca r2 = 0.475. This study provided useful information and a tool for the assessment and management of agroforestry systems.
