The total area of wetlands in Indonesia covering 33.39357 million ha nationally; distributed in Sumatra (9.37 million ha), Kalimantan (11.7074 million ha), Sulawesi (1.79345 million ha) and Papua (10.52272 million ha). Lowland rice varieties grow well in the wetlands area but subjected by abiotic and biotic stresses. Biotic constraints in this field including mice, leafhoppers, blast disease, as well as bacterial leaf blight (Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae). Bacterial leaf blight is a disease lead by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) which is one of the most important diseases attacked all phases of rice growth, these bacteria are able to form 'strains' or different groups in each attacked areas. In Indonesia, it is known several groups that often attacked wetland rice paddy, namely groups III, IV, V, VI, VIII and VIII. Of these groups, the highest level of virulence is group IV. The results of the study in 2011 showed that the composition of Xanthomonas oryzae pv oryzae pathotype in the area of rice production centers in Java consisted of pathotype III (12.8%) IV (18.6%) and VIII (68.6%). The purpose of this study was to inform the resilience reaction of 19 national swampy rice varieties that had been released against bacterial leaf blight disease groups IV and VIII in the greenhouse. The tests on 19 varieties of swampy rice showed varying results from resistant, moderately resistant, slightly vulnerable and vulnerable on the first observation and generally susceptible on the second observation to group VIII; while there was slightly vulnerable and vulnerable to group IV.
