Abstract

Abstract : Indonesia remains the worlds major rice importer as per capita consumption continues to increase. The next few years promise to favor sustained economic development. A World Bank mission reported in February 1980 that Indonesia's foreign exchange from oil and LNG will amount to $17 billion in 1985. The Indonesian Government is using its growing resources with prudence and restraint, and a regional balance in Southeast Asia can be achieved--if Indonesia can achieve and maintain parity with Vietnam. The historical method is used in this analysis.
