Abstract

Background: Hepatic artery infusion (HAI) pumps are utilized in the multimodality treatment of advanced colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) and intra-hepatic cholangiocarcinoma. During surgical implantation, dye is routinely administered into the gastroduodenal artery (GDA) catheter to confirm appropriate hepatic perfusion and a lack of extrahepatic perfusion. The historical standard of care has been administration of methylene blue dye through the catheter. There are potential advantages to other dyes, however, and our center favors indocyanine green (ICG) for this purpose. The video demonstrates multiple surgical cases demonstrating the utility of this approach intraoperatively.
