Abstract

Abstract An International Standards Organisation working group (ISO/TC85/SC2/WG7) has developed a draft standard specifying dosimetric performance requirements and recommending appropriate tests, for dosemeters to be used for extremity or eye dose measurements. The standard is complementary to the IEC standard Thermoluminescence Dosimetry Systems for Personal and Environmental Monitoring (IEC 1066 1991). The new draft standard is due to be circulated by ISO for international 'Member States' comments late in 1992. This paper summarises the content of the draft and gives some background to the technical requirements.
