Abstract
Objective To discuss the application effects of individual interview combined with group activities on psychological intervention of nasolabial deformity patients with moderate depression after the reconstruction surgery. Methods A total of 226 nasolabial deformity patients underwent reconstruction surgery in the Plastic Surgery in the First Hospital of Shijiazhuang from June 2013 to September 2016 were selected using random sampling. Among those patients, a number of 76 patients who were diagnosed as moderate depression based on Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) scores and voluntarily accepted psychological intervention, were recruited in the study. Individual interview combined with group activities were performed on those patients during the psychological intervention. The SDS scores of patients were compared between different time points: at the admission, before the operation and at the discharge. Results The SDS scores of patients at the admission, before the operation and at the discharge were (67.28±2.81) , (67.28±2.81) and (66.93±2.69) respectively. Paired t test showed that there were statistically significant differences among the SDS scores at the admission, before the operation and at the discharge (P<0.05) . Conclusions Individual interview can determine the causes of depression based on the ages and deformities of patients. The combination of individual interviews and group activities as well as corresponding psychological interventions can effectively improve the depression status of patients.
