Abstract

An indirect supervisory adaptive fuzzy controller design approach applied to a neutralization process is considered in this paper. Structure and designs controller method based on this approach will be briefly discussed, which includes fuzzy controller comprising a number of fuzzy system constructed from the plant knowledge as well as a supervisory scheme which will monitor the system performance during the operation. To improve the performance, two level quantization mechanism and an indication function are added in the controller design. Results of simulation study show how the designed supervisory adaptive fuzzy controller achieved the desired performance. Observations were also made by comparison the solution with nonsupervisory scheme.
