Abstract

This paper considers stabilisation of a reaction–diffusion process by indirect control. The reaction–diffusion equation is cascaded at one boundary with an ordinary control system. By introducing suitable backstepping transformations, a control law is established. The closed-loop system is shown to be stable under the control law. A explicit system is simulated to verify the control law.
