Abstract

Host range mutants of polyoma virus have been selected which make plaques on polyoma-transformed but not on normal 3T3 cells. These mutants are defective in transformation of rat and hamster cells and are unable to alter the cell surface of 3T3 cells with respect to lectin agglutinability (Benjamin 1970; Benjamin and Burger 1970).
