Abstract

The principle of the transtemporal extradural procedure of House and Fisch is demonstrated in this motion by presenting four different indications: 1. Decompression of the petrous portion of the facial nerve. 2. Operation of an extensive primary cholesteatoma with suture of the destroyed petrous portion of the facial nerve. 3. Removal of an acoustic neuroma via the internal auditory canal. 4. Vestibular neurectomy in a case of Meniere's disease.
