Abstract

The relation of systolic and diastolic pressure to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure must be understood if we are to recognize the earliest manifestations of hypertensive heart disease and prevent its progression. Many such issues have to be resolved before the most effective combination of medical and nonmedical therapies can be determined.
