Abstract
The circle of Willis is the main collateral circulation in the brain during internal carotid artery occlusion. Carotid stump pressure (CSP) is an established substitute measure of cerebral collateral circulation during carotid endarterectomy. Stenosis and occlusion of the contralateral internal carotid artery are thought to be risk factors.
