Abstract

Improving the lives of rural communities by developing smart villages is a concept analogous to the more familiar smart cities. The vision for smart villages is that modern energy access can act as a catalyst for development – in education, health, food security, clean water and sanitation, environmental sustainability and participatory democracy – which in turn supports further improvements. It is estimated that about 70% Indian population lives in villages. However, the ground realities around them by the way of minimum educational avenues, minimum basic needs of life and same age old shabby surroundings are deterrent for their talent and the dreams to take shape and flourish. The aim of the current paper is to explore access to an entry point for rural development. Villages are the small parts of this chain (country) and for the strengths of chain we have to work on its weak and small parts. Now we can say India needs Smart villages to boost Indian Economy.
