Abstract
The index of physical volume of production of manufactures in the United States compiled for the years 1914-1925 by E. E. Day and Woodlief Thomas 1 and for 1927-1931 by Miss Aryness Joy 2 has recently been computed for the year 1933. A description of the index was given in this JOURNAL for December 1930. The biennial index numbers on a 1919 base for the period 1919 to 1933 compared with index of manufacturing production compiled by the Federal Reserve Board are as follows:
