Abstract

Index assignment (IA) technique is introduced to quantized beamforming systems. The feedback channel in these systems is modeled as a discrete memoryless channel (DMC), and the diversity and array gains with feedback errors are derived. Based on the analytical results, IA scheme is designed to provide a redundancy-free protection against feedback errors. Simulation results show that good IA scheme improves the array gain and symbol error rate (SER).
