Abstract

The authors have studied the application of an independent component analysis (ICA) approach to the identification and minimization of artifacts, particularly electrooculogram (EOG) in electroencephalographic recordings. A component highly correlated with EOG was extracted only from 2 channels of EEG by using ICA. The results show the capability of the method to identify and clearly isolate the produced artifact, EOG from EEG recordings.
