Abstract

Abstract Although, strictly speaking, the phenomenon of Suffixaufnahme did not exist in the common Inda-European language, there do exist two nominal paradigms whose origins offer some analogies to it. These are the o-stems and the feminine in -* ī. Neither of these is exactly coincident with Suffixaufnahme, but they serve to throw light on the diachrony of Suffixaufnahme and kindred patterns of attributive marking.
