Abstract

Renewable energy sources such as; solar array, wind turbine or fuel cell, need a step-up converter to produce proper and useful voltage levels. In this paper a high step-up converter with three coupled inductors called Y-source impedance network, which can provide a very high boost at lower shoot-through duty cycle of switch and has one more degree of freedom to achieve voltage boost is utilized. In This case, in order to Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) of the solar energy in photovoltaic (PV) system, the incremental conductance method is improved. The proposed method guaranties the MPPT realization with subject to wide changes of load resistance and various atmospheric conditions. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed incremental conductance MPPT technique than conventional method due to dynamic response. These results are in good agreement and prove the effectiveness and capability of the method.
