Abstract

Isothermal transformation of austenite in high-chromium cast iron was investigated on an Akulov analyzer in the 700-300 o C range each 50 o C. In connection with the fact that service tests of rools of high-chromium cast iron with a 20-30% residual austenite content on a 320 mill showed long life of them, investigations were conducted on development of heat treat cycles for the purpose of obtaining a matrix of alloy austenite and on studying its influence on the mechanical properties and wear resistance of the iron
